New Lake Dwellings opened in Unteruhldingen -
Hands-on Activities during Pentecost holiday
| During the summer of 2006, the SWR-Broadcasting company sent 13 people into the Stone Age. The village ensemble, reconstructed for the series at a pond in the hinterland of Lake Constance, consists of three villages a village square, and stables, opened on May 22, 2007. Between May 27 and June 9, 2007, the Open Air Museum offers „Stone Age – Hands-on weeks“. Visitors can learn how difficult it would be for people in 21st Century, having to live back in the Stone Age. Currently there is also a special exhibit to the ARD/SWR-Documentary. In this exhibit test persons report about their different experiences while living like the people 5000 years ago. As people of today, they quickly learned how to start a fire, to cover a roof, to use bow and arrow, and to gather foodstuff directly out in nature. Tours at the Lake Dwellings are offered daily between 9.00 am and 7.00 pm. For more information contact us at www.swr.de/steinzeit. |
