Virtual tour of the Stone Age Village 1 - Sipplingen

Constructed according to archeological finds at the Federsee and in Sipplingen at Lake Constance (Excavations 1918-1937), this Neolithic Age village (3500 BC) that is surrounded by a palisade, constitutes a reconstruction of a small settlement at the shores of Lake Constance.

In typical houses with reed roofs, visitors learn about the world of the early farmers, fishermen, and tradesmen at Lake Constance. Whether landscape history at Lake Constance, house construction, farming, life stock breeding, fishing or how to make a fire the Stone Age way – in these cottages, the basic elements of the Stone Age period are being demonstrated. Of course, visitors can become part of the experience by handling the tools and artifacts themselves.
